MS Dhoni Among TIME’s 100 Most Influential People 2011

Time Magazine has announced the list of 100 most influential people around the world and Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni featured in the list. Its a great achievement for Dhoni, at the age of 29, to be part of this elite club . Dhoni rightly deserves this awards as he steers the ship of 1 billion strong Indian cricket fans.

Dhoni is the best captain ever Indian cricket has seen. Under His uber cool and humble captaincy Indian cricket team scaled to newer heights that were never seen or imagined before. He lead the team to win T20 World Cup , ICC ODI World Cup, Asian Cup, Top 1 Rank in Test Cricket and IPL Trophy. What else a cricket fan can expect from a captain? In April, when India won its first Cricket World Cup in 28 years, it felt as if the entire population of 1.21 billion had spilled out into the streets to party. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, 29, the Indian captain, finished the final game by flamboyantly hitting the ball into the stands, cementing his country’s dominance of the world’s second most popular sport. Dhoni is now universally acknowledged as India’s best captain ever. He’s also its most likable, exuding both cool confidence and down-to-earth humility.

Azim Premji, Mukesh Ambani, Aruna Roy, V.S. Ramachandran are the other Indian icons who featured in the list along with popular names ilke Larry Page, Michelle Obama, Justin Bieber, Mark Zuckerberg.
