Windows 7 Breaks Amazon’s Pre Order Sales Record

Windows_7_Logo Hey Steve Balmer, here is some good news to cheer you and the Windows development team – The number of preorders received for Windows 7 has broke the all time records at Amazon UK. Amazon UK pre-order record previously held by J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. When something is selling faster than J.K. Rowling books in UK then it’s the hottest product.

Brian McBride, Amazon UK MD says

The launch of Windows 7 has superseded everyone’s expectations, storming ahead of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as the biggest grossing pre-order product of all-time at Amazon.co.uk, and demand is still going strong

The other fact is, Windows 7’s first 8 hours of pre-order sales is more than the Windows Vista’s entire pre-order sales. This shows that most of the PC users are all set to upgrade their Windows XPs and Windows Vista to Windows 7.
