How To Crack/Recover MS Access(MDB) Password With A Single Click

Today I had to recover a password of a Microsoft Access database (mdb) file that I created and protected couple of years ago. As the file was created couple of years ago I had no clue on what password I used to protect mdf file as well as no hints on guessing the password too. The only option I had is to search for some applications that cracks the password of the Microsoft Access file.

After googling the web for couple of minutes I found a brilliant free application that cracks Access files – Access PassView. Using the application I recovered the password in a fraction of a second. The speed at which application cracked the password is really amazing. I was expecting that application is going to use brute force mechanism to crack the password and it will take some time. But the application is so brilliant; it does its job very quickly.

.

The official web site of the application says it is capable to recovering passwords from MS Access 95/97/2000/XP

This utility reveals the database password of every password-protected mdb file that created with Microsoft Access 95/97/2000/XP or with Jet Database Engine 3.0/4.0 . It can be very useful if you forgot your Access Database password and you want to recover it.

Even though there is no official word about recovering passwords from MS Access 2003 files, it recovered the password from my MS Access 2003 file. I tried the application on Windows  XP, Vista and Windows 7. Another highlight of the application – there is no need to install. It comes as a ZIP file that can be extracted and start using it. What else we can ask for!. Hats off to the developer of this application.
