Airtel, one of the biggest mobile service providers as well the official iPhone vendor in India has announced that iPhone 4 will be available in India through its stores by September or October of this year.
WSJ India reports that Sanjay Kapoor, an Airtel official, said
We are working with Apple…hopefully (Bharti will launch) in the September, October timeframe
It’s good to hear that Facetime will be possible in India by Diwali season, but there is no information on the price of the device.
The other iPhone vendors, Vodophone and Reliance iStore, has not offered any information on the availability of iPhone 4 officially. It’s most likely that others also will will offer iPhone during the same time.
