Insure.com has entered the record books for being one of the most expensive domain name ever sold in the history of internet. A less known organization called Quin Street purchased insure.com domain as well as the company name “Insure” for a whooping amount of 16 million USD. The parent company that was holding the domain name is now renamed itself to Life Quotes.
Other high priced domain auctions we have see in the recent are: sale of candy.com for $3 million, sex.com for $12 million, toys.com for $5.1 million and fly.com for $1.8 million.

That’s an amazing amount of money for a domain name when you could simply get another version for next to nothing. Just jealous that I didn’t own it I suppose lol
