The office.com domain, which Microsoft recently acquired from an American entrepreneur, is live now. It is simply redirecting to office.microsoft.com.
office.microsoft.com is home of Microsoft’s Office and provides information on various products like Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, etc.
Industry pundits expected that Microsoft would use the domain office.com for the upcoming release of the Office Web Applications that are going to compete with Google Apps. But now we are not sure whether Microsoft is going to just keep redirecting office.com to office website or Microsoft will host Office web applications. We have to wait and see.
Seems Microsoft has started to take every generic word, like ‘live’, ‘office’, etc.. ;) By the way, is live search engine dead? Or Bing is an updated version of live? Does bing.com point to some other (version of) SE in future?
