How to apply for Pan card online

PANCARDGovernment of Indian has made PAN Number as one of the mandatory requirement for all the transactions where cash flow is involved.It is asked every where these days right from Banking Services to IT Submission.

It is also widely  accepted as one of document Identity & signature proof. Besides all this , It is also one of the key information government uses to keep cash flow transparent thus reducing the black money.

PAN card can be applied manually through local agencies which normally does financial services such as IT submission / Insurance services or through online using the Income tax website Apply PAN Card Online.

Steps to Apply for your PAN Card

Step 1:

Select the option “NEW PAN”  to apply for the new card. Before applying for the new PAN make sure you have not applied before / doesn’t hold one PAN already. It is illegal to hold multiple PAN cards.

Step 2:

Click on the “Online Application for New PAN (Form 49)” link which opens the guidelines form, Read the instructions and select the application type as individual as shown below.

Step 3:

This will open the PAN application form  “Form 49 A”. Please fill in the details and make the payment through Credit card / Debit Card option. Application Status enquiry check can be done online only if the payment is made using Credit card / Debit Card option.

Step 4:

You will get an acknowledgment after completing the payment,send the acknowledgment to the “Tax PAN Services Unit, National Securities Depository Limited, 3rd floor, Sapphire Chambers, Near Baner Telephone Exchange, Baner, Pune – 411045′  including the following details

  • Photograph (in case of ‘Individuals’) 
  • Address & Identity Proof

Also make sure your post card envelop should be in the format “APPLICATION FOR PAN – Acknowledgment Number”.

  1. @bala, if you are major(in India age 18 or above), no need to fill this 14th line. If you have pressed unintentionally the title shri/smt/kumari etc.. again click on the same title. example: if you click on the title shri, click on the same title shri again to ignore this 14th line..
