Google News Expanding Its Archive With Historical Newspapers Scans
Google recently announced that are digitising newspapers of our grandpa’s generation in order to build a searchable repository. With this move eventually one day all us will be able to search and locate information published in the historical newspapers using Google Search.
For now only a selected group of historical newspapers are digitised and they appear in the Google News Archive Search results.

Google will scan the newspapers and save them in their original format complete with photos, crosswords, advertisements and all. Google announcement said
We’re launching an initiative to make more old newspapers accessible and searchable online by partnering with newspaper publishers to digitize millions of pages of news archives,
These scanned newspapers appear in the search results if the context of search keywords matches with the content of scanned newspapers. In the search results the newspaper results are distinguished with the tag "Google News Archive".

Here are few newspaper archives that we located on Google News Archives
